SPYM Mission Statement:
Called by God the Father through Jesus Christ, with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, rooted in the Eucharist we seek to encourage and engage all youth of the parish, to help feed the desire of community, knowledge and spiritual thirst of all young people, always upholding the love of Christ and His Church.
St. Philip's Youth Ministry is dedicated to serving the youth of the parish. Presenting different groups, activities and events to bring them closer in community and fellowship, as well as, helping young people encounter and grow closer to God and His Church.
St. Philip's High School Youth Group:
Wednesday nights from 6:30 pm to 8:15 pm we host high school youth group. We gather in fellowship to grow and learn more about our faith and Christ. All high school aged youth are welcome to join the group and are encouraged to come as often as they would like.
Students who attend youth group had these things to say:
We engage our youth through games, activities, small groups, talks and snacks. Our youth group is facilitated by adult volunteers called the "Core Team," with the guidance of Bre Benavidez, the youth minister and Alvaro Romero, the Director of Religious Education. Core desires to lead teens closer to Christ and His church. The Core team ranges in age, from 18 to 40; we are so thankful and blessed that they would dedicate most Wednesday nights to helping share the gospel. We encourage all adults who have a desire to serve the youth to join us on a Wednesday night as we strive to be present to the youth.
